this may have just topped elevations 8 second as the best kolsch in colorado! wow, this totally took me by surprise, i was just looking for a lighter beer and was called to order this kolsch for whatever reason and it just leapt out of the glass at me, so much character here, near perfect take on the style, and some of the better american made kolsch i have ever had, no kidding! golden and relaxed looking in the glass, with nice head retention and carbonation. it smells just a little hoppier than the imports do, but with the same lagered sort of crispness to it, a really robust kolsch type yeast, and a freshness to the grain we never see when the beer has to come all the way from overseas. the balance here is amazing, and its light without being at all watery, its fully satisfying to me, dry and interesting enough, authenticity is high. the hops have a bit of orange to them at the end, but still noble in a grassy and less bitter way, a cool way for this one to finish with the crisping yeast. a seriously world class glass of beer from a place i had never even heard of before i walked in the door. A+.
