Pours black. Head is a finger of mocha colored foam. Aroma is toasty, caramel, roasty, and bready. Bourbon comes on more towards the end, adding complexity alongside a mild intensity char note. Flavor profile is roasty, toasty, and caramelly with a big kiss of bourbon on the back. Earthy malts come on more at the finish, especially as the beer warms. Mouth feel is medium in thickness. Texture is velvety with a light effervescence. Overall, a kiss of heavy without running away into boat anchor (heavy) territory.
