16 oz can into a mug.
A: Clear amber color with a small off-white head that vanished almost immediately.
S: Malt sweetness has some spice to it, almost more like a Roggenbier. Very faint earthy hops.
T: Follows - sweet nutty malt, faint earthy hop bitterness, and some warming spice. Refreshingly not as sweet as some of its peers.
M: Medium-light bodied. Well carbonated but I think the body could benefit from a little more heft.

Nice copper color with white head. Taste of biscuit, caramel. Half marzen half something else.

Tap
Pours mostly clear amber, firm eggshell head is finely textured and dissipates slowly.
Aroma of fresh barley and biscuit malts.
Flavor is of biscuit, banana, cereal, and dry woody hop. The hop is very mild.
Light body, tingly carbonation on the tongue.
Refreshing, crisp, sessionable. A bit off from the standard marzen to me with some estery flavor, not necessarily a bad thing because it makes this memorable. Would have again.

Revisited in September of 2021
This version is a more grainy. Still somewhat muted. Its decent, just not as great as the last time I had it. Still a solid märzen well worth drinking.

Pours a clear dark orange tinged brown color - somewhat cloudy, but otherwise semitransparent. thin off-white colored head dissipates leaving no residual head whatsoever.
Aroma is malty, earthy and nutty with a hint of spicy hops. Avoids the straight caramel malt that so many American brewed Oktoberfests fall into. Wouldn't mind it being a bit more vibrant, bit otherwise, its in line with the style.
Taste follows the aroma with a nice earthy nutty malt forward flavor. Faint touch of spicy hops comes through.
Vibrant carbonation. Nice medium to fuller bodied body. Dry finish.
Overall a really well crafted Oktoberfest. One of the better American brewed examples of the style. This will be a standard choice for me.
