The brewmance between Central Kentucky's Rock House and Mirror Twin breweries festers in stout form. Perfect for the winter cold weather, these two teams couldn't be more serious about their beer baby. ...but only until other spring flings flare up again.

Reasonably black and nearly opaque, the matte black finish of the glass is folllowed by a delicate creme froth but a bold array of roasted aromatics that span dark roast coffee, burnt sugars and an all around nutty woodsiness. Robustly and sweet on the tongue, a notion of toffee, honey, sweet cream and chocolate soon follow.

Loosely carbonated, the bold body of the beer allows the malt sweetness to rest weightily on the middle palate delivering the full breadth of burnt honey, espresso, bittersweet chocolate and an overall bitter brownie character to frame the bulk of the beer's impressions. Trending spicy with vodka booze and boldly roasted, the beer's char and hops a resinous finish that's easily masked as cocoa, walnut or coffee.

Full bodied but somewhat relaxed from the fast fleeting body and structure, a resemblance to flat colas persist and limit the beer's fullness and roundness in finish. A long and aftertaste leaves the tastebuds burnt- meaning that these two breweries will move on as soon as warmer weather arrives. I've had better.
