Covering all the hoppy bases, Rock House brewers also cover their fruity and spicy bases while sparing no expense with Amarillo, Mosaic, Citra and Simcoe hops, along with mango and habanero to create a New England-styled hop, fruit and spice bomb that's fuzzier than ever.
So There Will Be Mango comes with a pale golden appearance, seemingly with extra pulp, the matte appearance is capped with a short but dense frothy crown. Tropical fruit abounds as the scent swoons the nose leading with mango, but also with a medley of citrus, spice, herb and spruce. Pastry-like on the early palate, a pep of honey, cookie dough and cream of wheat frame the malt sweetness and bready textures initially.
As the malt shows a slow fade, the hops waste no time rewarding the middle palate with a juicy taste of papaya, pink grapefruit, orange, pineapple and cantaloup in a strong fruit punch flavor. But there's no mistake about its strong mango presence that dominates the tastebuds. Trending heated and rindy, the sharpness of habanero peppers simmer strongly on the late palate and threaten to take away from the beer's spicy bitterness of juniper, freshly shaven spruce, green tea and geranium.
An intense spice of capsaicin helps to dry the medium bodied beer in order to provide a smooth but heated taste overall. A long linger of prickling heat, tropical fruit peels and light sap resonate with a hemp-like undertone and a fleeting taste of cereal grains.
