Pours a very dark brown with finger of tan head.
Aroma is sweet maple, vanilla, caramel, and hints of pecan - does indeed connote aroma of pecan pie.
Flavour of praline/maple/pecan, brown sugar and vanilla with just touch of coffee at finish.
Carbonation is subdued on a slightly thin body, but very smooth and drinkable.

A- Pours a murky brown color that doesn't contain much clarity.....perhaps from the graham crumb used? Anyhow, there is a lot of wee tiny carbonation rising to the top from what I see on the side of the glass, but the off white head that started out around 2 fingers in thickness, quickly fizzled out into a thin ring around the inside of my container unfortunately. Not much for lacing either, but rather an oily looking film that coats. Nothing really impressive to look at here.....
S- A very nice medley of aromas, starting with sweet candied loads of pecans! Milk chocolate, fresh vanilla bean pod, graham crumbs with melted butter, real maple syrup, and even perhaps some raisin mixed in there too! Quite dessert like upfront with underlying notes of dark chocolate malts and a finish that is of subtle oily hops.
T- Nice flavors that are not as upfront as the aromas would suggest, but still lots of flavorful, delicate tones of sweet pecan, velvety vanilla infused milk chocolate, cooked brown sugar, some underlying drying chocolate/black malts, even some mocha coffee richness! The finish is just of slight hop bitterness but helps balance the overall experience on the palate and cleans things up too.
M/O- Creamy, medium bodied porter that is a nice balance between sweet and dry! The alcohol is well hidden and really, this is quite a social beer that I would love to see on tap at some point. Pairs well with some chocolate covered coffee beans. Recommended....a good job by Outcast!

473ml can - made with 'pecan, maple, vanilla, and graham'. Apparently there is something called graham extract, so it's not the crackers of note.
This beer pours a murky, dark orange-brick brown colour, with four fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and mildly fizzy tan head, which leaves but a few instances of sudsy remote islet lace around the glass as it quickly evaporates.
It smells of bready and doughy caramel malt, maple candy, those vanilla cookies we had when we were kids, and some well understated earthy, musty, and floral green hop bitters. The taste is gritty and grainy caramel malt, maple syrup, kind of edgy vanilla, some indistinct nuttiness, brown sugar, and more ephemeral earthy, herbal, and floral hoppiness.
The carbonation is fairly tame in its palate-supporting frothiness, the body a so-so medium weight, and mostly smooth, with a strange acridity evolving as it warms up a tad out of the ol' basement bar fridge. It finishes trending off-dry, but not by that much, as there is a lingering, almost spicy, bitterness.
Overall - this offering does well enough to evoke the titular confection (my Dad always has it on his birthday in December), and is satisfying to put back. The sweetness does seem to tail off pretty quickly, however, but I suppose that helps with the drinkability quotient.
