Served on tap at the brewery
A – Medium amber in color, excellent clarity and a nice bright and creamy head. Lacing left behind is consistent and nice.
S – A little sweet, but nicely balanced and malty here.
T – Very nice and crisp, rich and malty but not overly sweet or cloying, excellent balance.
M – Wonderful mouthfeel, very nicely balanced and crisp, with a lingering mild sweetness.
O – Märzen that is done very, very nicely. One of the best I've had.

I guess they couldn't keep this one in storage until October this year, as it is already on draught at the Chuckanut Brewery and Kitchen. Marzen in May–-okay by me! It's a rich brown-amber color; a dark red lager with a creamy off-white head. It smells a little fruity and sweet. This one is quite flavorful, maintaing the crisp, clean finish of a German-style lager. Robust maltiness and some earthy hops compliment a flash of pilsner-like 'paleness.' The body fills the mouth nicely and tasteful carbonation is perfect for the slight sweetness. Red fruits, a bit of roasted malt, and the dark bready quality of Oktoberfest beer make this one worth more than just a sample. Refreshing, complex, full, and tasty.

Another new find at Bailey's Taproom, a seasonal lager from one of newer NW breweries. 5.8% abv and 25 ibu listed on the website. 10 oz. pour.
A: An excedingly amber brew, glowing. Were it a solid rather than liquid, a prehistoric insect might be encased within this gem. Multiple streams of carbonation wriggle upward to a broken film cap and rim-holding cream ring.
S: Sweet aroma per the style, a candied fruitiness. Hinted tinniness but very pleasant overall, floral notes.
T: Sweet grains and a fruit tang of crisp apples. Cereal grains, spices liberally sprinkled in. Rounded bitterness to conclude.
M: Creamy smooth, a velvety feel that withholds a creeping spiced tingle. Alcohol is a little apparant, more as a growing warmth. Mild malt stickiness.
D: I was happy with this one, very solid offering. It's only the first week of August and already this puts me in an 'Oktoberfest' mindset. Well executed, a beer I'd definitely have again.
