Medium brunette color. Slight toffee/spice aroma. A bit of a brown ale bite. Medium body with a good non-sweet malt note.

On tap at The Beermongers.

A clear copper with a dense, off white head with good retention and lacing. The nose is delicious. Noticeably hoppy with earth and mild mint notes to go with a nice blend of caramel, toffee, mild butterscotch, dark honey. The palate opens with a great balance between bitter earth and a wonderfully deep and lightly fruity malt character. Honey, toffee, dark caramel, butterscotch, dried berries, this beer is excellent. Light in body and with a long lasting and bitter finish, this beer is creamy on the palate. Drying on the palate as well, despite the sweeter flavors present. Excellent.

First had: on tap at Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen

Poured light brown with a bit of a white head. Smell was light and grainy. Taste was the same, with grains and smooth malts. Light-medium mouthfeel and moderately refreshing with a tinge of aftertaste. Drinkable.

Served in fluted tulip glass. Poured a clear, medium mahogany color with a half-inch of off-white head that had OK retention and lacing.

The aroma was a clean grainy scent, with some sweet malt notes in the background. The flavors were also pretty good, with the grainy malt flavors leading and a slightly sweet finish.

The body was very good, nicely crisp and clean. Drinkability was excellent, relaxing with a few of these was easy to do. Overall, a very nice version of a semi-obscure style, worth trying if you see it.
