Poured from 16oz can into my 8th Wonder chalice. No date on can that I can see.
Appearance: it’s red! Like, super duper red, with a dash of haze and a finger of pink foam atop.
Smell: rich, sweet, candy cherry aroma, with a hint of tartness and maybe a bit of lactose. This reminds me of the kind of cherry beers I get in Hungary — sweet candy treats.
Taste: absolutely massively sweet, with tons of cherry candy sweetness, but also with an offsetting tartness. I don’t even know how to review beers like this — it definitely doesn’t taste like “beer”, but then again, that’s the style. It’s definitely what it says on the tin — this is cherry-flavored fruit punch.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a moderate carbonation and a decent creaminess.
Overall: the tartness definitely has me coming back for more. While the smoothie sour is not always my jam, candy cherry absolutely *is* my jam, and so this beer is basically calculated to pander to me. So take that as you will.
