Poured from 16oz can into my BeerAdvocate teku. No date on the can.
Appearance: thick and murky and very dark purple, with no head at all. It definitely meets my expectation of a beer with blackcurrant, black cherry, and blackberries.
Smell: sweet, rich, and a little creamy; to me this smells like blackberry ice cream. Ain’t nothing wrong with that!
Taste: it’s a bit tart up front and all the way through; there’s plenty of sweetness in the mix as well. The fruit flavors come through great, especially the blackberry. I presume there’s some kind of lactose in here; honestly I think it could be pulled back a bit. Still a tasty beverage, though.
Mouthfeel: thick body with a low but perceptible carbonation and plenty of texture. It’s not really creamy, really, but it is thick and smooth.
Overall: for the style, I like this beer. Of course, many of these are too sweet for me in general, but this one is at least not too over the top, and this particular combo of fruit flavors suits my palate.
