Appearance - The beer poured a nice copper color with a white head.
Smell - Toasty malts and lager yeast was the focus point in the nose. The dustiness of a German lager was captured.
Taste - The chewy malts that I love about bocks were definitely present. There was something about the malts that made me think of a red ale/lager. Is this a red bock? The lager yeast presented a nice backbone for the finish.
Mouthfeel - The yeast painted the tongue with flavor, allowed to do so because of modest carbonation.
Overall - There was something odd about this one, but I enjoyed it.
