Traded for this a while ago, as the date on the bottom of the can read 10/5/17 with SEND FLUTES written above it. Saw that there were a lot of variations of this that were brewed but noticing how this turned out, I'm not sure why that was the case. This was a fine beer and a perfectly sufficient IPA but there were too many hops in this for any one of them to stand out...
Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was golden, hazy, and full of fine sediment. Enough head topped this off and there wasn't a lot of lacing left behind aside from a thick back half of a ring about a quarter of the way down my pint glass. Lots of dank hops, muddled tropical fruit, wheat, and wet grass in the muted nose as the taste contained all of those as well; along with a undertone of minty weed. Boozy, dewy, and heavier than I expected, this wasn't a bad beer but it I never really warmed up to it, even as it fully warmed up...
Not a ton of alcohol in this but it came across as being much more potent than it was in actuality. A bit of prickly pear cactus and resin gave this an exotic mouthfeel and although the body was balanced, it was tough to discern what malt(s) were used in this. A bit more carbonation, flavor, and, nectar would have really enhanced this beer but as it was, this was smooth and relatively mindless...which wasn't terribly bad on this mild summer afternoon!
