Traded for this a while ago as the date on the bottom of the can read 1/10/18 with I REMEMBER MY FIRST BEER written above it. This was the first beer from Icarus that I reviewed on here and it wasn't bad although it was fairly typical in nearly every aspect. For being a year and a half old, this held up quite well!

Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was a hazy honey with a fine sediment in it. Plenty of head topped it off although it wasn't terribly thick and certainly not long-lasting, which was proven true when the lack of lacing became apparent as I worked my way through this. Booze, tropical fruit, mild forest, earthy hops, and nectar filled the mild nose as they came out more in the taste. Slightly sticky, dank, and a bit outdoorsy, this was a fine IPA that had a good body to it, undertones of honey, and a light carbonation but didn't break any new ground in any of those aspects. The aftertaste was quite sticky with deep pine and some swamp embedded underneath but overall, this was a relatively basic IPA that was easy to enjoy.

The amount of booze in this was spot-on and there was no sediment whatsoever left at the bottom of my glass when I finished this off. The double dry-hopping ensured that there wouldn't be any rough edges with the end result being a "safe" beer that would suffice for any imbiber. Would be fun to have the regular version of this to see what the difference would be!
