06/29/21 on bottom of can.

A: Super turbid orange juice look with 1-finger of off-white foamy head with average retention and skimpy lacing.

S: Orange, white grape, grapefruit, and guava have the most power with a light herbal note in the background.

T: Flavor is super-intense grapefruit and lime citrus coupled with tart berry and tannic grape skin in the finish. Esters are low and bitterness is low-medium.

M: A bit more carbonated than most NEIPAs with medium body and reasonably dry finish.

O: A marvelous beer from Icarus -- glad I gave it a shot!

Can in trade with Airforcehops, thanks for the opportunity!
Lightly hazy light gold in color with a tightly bubbled white head. Melon and citrus with a bit of bready maltiness to counter.

Obtained this at Gary's in Wayne as I wasn't planning on buying it but was sold it after seeing the label and told by the beer manager that I could pick up a single can of this. Since I grew up here in New Jersey, I wanted to give this a go because it has the state flag on the label and the state motto as it's moniker. Besides the novelty factor, this was an interesting brew because of it's balance and how much Nelson Sauvin was in it. I normally wouldn't think that that particular hop would go well with oats, but it did here as this was a full-bodied, and oddly pleasing brew at the same time!

This a murky, melon hue to it that was uniform in color and topped off with a webbed head that settled quickly as there was only a few spots of suds left behind as I worked my way through this. Lots of oats, tangy lime, and white grape in the nose as the taste had white peach, stone fruit, a hint of wheat, and earthy hops emerging in the taste. Nicely bodied and with an usual flavor, this grew on me as it warmed up but it still seemed to be missing a little something, even with a mild slickness and everlasting tang in the aftertaste.

The alcohol was on par with everything else going on here as I felt a slight warming take hold of me as I worked my way through this. There was a good amount of Cascade and Motueka to balance out the dominant presence of the Nelson Sauvin which gave the bitterness and earthiness that it needed. Canned on 3/9 with "IT'S TAYLOR HAM!" written above it, this was a Jersey beer through and through even if it didn't quite remind me of something from Magnify, Kean, or Carton. Grab a hot dog from a Windmill, a plate of disco fries on the side, and wash it down with this, as it's just as quirky and endearing as the characters from my own Garden State.
