$5 @ Cherry Hill Wine, Liquor & Beer, Cherry Hill, NJ
Notes via stream of consciousness: I'm not sure hat "oat fluffed" is but I'm guessing that it's just adding oats to the grain bill, or perhaps just more than were originally there. It's poured a cloudy golden body with a little bit of an orange sheen to it beneath a finger's width of creamy, slightly off-white foam. In the nose I'm getting citrus and other tropical fruit, and a little bit of sweet red berry over a sweetish, grainy and wheaty malt base. The taste expands upon the aroma with a whole lot of berries. The oats are clear in the flavor, and the malt is sweet. Additional notes include peach, passionfruit, lemon-lime, pomelo, some minor "dankness", pineapple, and mango. It's not that bitter, nor does the alcohol really show although there is a touch in the finish. How strong is this? Wow, at 10.3% the limited amount of alcohol that's showing is impressive. It finishes sweet but dries quickly and doesn't seem to be building on the palate. On the other hand this is clearly a sipper so I'm giving it plenty of time for my palate to clear. In the mouth it feels full bodied but I'm guessing that's got a lot to do with all of the extra proteins. The head initially held up quite well but after it fell there wasn't a lot of lacing left behind, of course that's to be expected for a beer of 10.3%. I love it. I think it's well balanced for what it is, and the hop selection is fantastic. That includes, by the way, Motueka, Azacca, Mosaic, and Strata.

16oz can from Tavour. Pours out orange golden, hazy small frothy white head. Aroma is fruity, citrusy, minor tropical notes. Taste is sweet, tropical and citrus blend together very well, small tangy bitterness. Body is thick and creamy, thanks to the oats.
