this is really good, a gender bender in terms of style, hoppy but sour, but not a berliner type, lactic but also more than that on the ferment, and the hops are mega modern, its delicate but absurdly flavorful too, they did a great job with this. i get melon and citrus from the hops in the nose, a super clean lactic tang on the front end, a technical mastery level of dryness, and some punchy passion fruit seed and not ripe strawberry folds, love how interesting and unforced this is. the hops make it juicy sure, and the sourness is peppy for sure, but this comes together in a way others dont, and i think it makes sense that this seems to be one of their more popular offerings, drinkable by the pint but also worthy of a nice piece of glassware. not as wild and captivating as their cork and cage stuff for the most part, but its accessible in a coo way while also being a little challenging. delicious on tap, lucky to get to dip in, reminds me in the best ways of a bygone era of emergent american sour beer. hoppy and clean and yummy!

Unknown age can poured into a weizen glass. Very strong carbonation pulling up from the bottom, white frothy whippy head with amazing retention that falls into a gorgeous white crown and lacing with some islands of retained head. Nice solid yellow color with some bubbles visible. The nose is sour green apple, sour grapefruit, and lemon, and some piney funk typical of a imperial IPA. The taste is similar to sour flowers or roses, grapefruit rind, and sour apple and citrus up front shifting to strong hop and juicy funk character on the back end. The finish is a classic IPA refreshing dry mouthfeel without the bitter yacky character in some IPAs.
This beer takes an IPA and removes all the negative aspects of one with some delightful sour character, taming the bitterness and overwhelming hop. Fantastic and very refreshing!
