Not a big pale ale fan, but this was gifted to me by a co-worker in return for home brew I had given him. I had heard of Electric Brewing from the Four Brewers show and was curious about them. Just so happened I got a 4-pack of Trois House in exchange.
The beer pours a semi-opaque. straw. yellow with a very thing head that quick dissipates leaving no lacing on the pint glass. The beer is brewed with a simple 2-row pilsner malt, then hopped with Simcoe, Galaxy and Citra hops. Maybe it's the yeast used in this beer, but it carries a cheap lager-eqsue type smell. Then again, I go back to the first comment I made, I am not a big pale ale fan. There is no hint of fruit on the nose with this pale ale. The taste seems to have a quick, fleeting pineapple/mango taste that gives way to a bitterness that linger through the entire swallow, leaving an tart aftertaste. I point to the Saccharomyces "bruxellensis" Trois yeast used in this pale ale.
