Canned 04/20/2020, 100% CITRA.
Great hazy golden hue, with soft formations of head that rise above the beer and lace nicely as it falls. The ring of foam left around the glass's circumference clings lazily to the sides.
The nose bursts with those notes known so well to Citra. Tangerine, candied grapefruit, and fresh mango all come forward and lead the charge for just a touch of fresh cut grass on the tail.
The palate is very well-balanced, avoiding any signs of that often overly bitter finish that less-than-well-executed beers sometimes turn out when brewed solely with Citra hops. More present notes of grapefruit, with a lime zest potency that helps to bring forth contrasting very mild undertones of orange rind. As it continues to open, there's some added complexity of dried mangoes that begins to emerge.
As I'm beginning to expect from all Haze from Electric, the mouthfeel is outstanding. Soft, medium-bodied, with almost no traces of lingering bitterness or unwanted booze. 7.5% may not be anything crazy for an IPA by today's standards, but this thing drinks smoooooooth.
