Swing-top growler filled at the brewpub.
First stein pours with a 1/2" beige head, over the cloudy golden amber brew. Head is quickly down to an uneven layer of frothy skim, with lasting coating lace. Aroma is juicy fruit citrus. Taste is sweet to start, rapidly taken over by tangerine in the middle, comes on with balancing bitter through the close. Mouthfeel is soft and very smooth, and drinkability is great. A pleasure, this one.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. A good IPA, C-hop aromas and taste. Sheets of lace arising from a very cloudy orange body. Smooth, good drinkability from 75 IBU, for the hophead. Citrus taste. Subtle but definate shreading effect on the palate. Very decent end to the evening.

This WilliBrew IPA was of the color I expected for an IPA but due to the unfiltering, it looked like a glass of grapefruit juice with pulp. It had the same nose as grapefruit juice as well but that wasn't unexpected because it was advertised and being brewed with citrus hops.
ABV was stated as 6.5% which is a bit higher than past reviews. While I wasn't disappointed, it wasn't exactly what I had in mind either. It tasted better than it looked but I moved on to other choices when I was done.

On tap at Willimantic on 3/2/10.
A - Cloudy pale orange-colored liquid with a slim off-white head that settled into a thin patch, leaving a ring of retention and spotty lace around the rim of the glass.
S - Glacier IPA boasts a very citrus-forward nose with grapefruit at the forefront. Caramel and honey sweetness and a hint of floral hop notes round out the aroma profile.
T - Opens with a fairly aggressive hop character with citrus fruit at the forefront, especially grapefruit and orange peel. Malt is sweet but well-concealed by a camouflage of hop vines and cones.
M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a syrupy texture, although there is a lot of residual hop oils too. Finishes with a dry, lingering bitterness on the back of the tongue.
D - Very good citrusy IPA overall and quite bitter, as it should be. This one fell slightly short of my expectations (based on other IPAs I've had from this brewery) but this is still ultimately an above average IPA.

Stopped of at Willi Brew to wrap my taste buds around this offering.
I, being a hop lover, was enticed mostly by the aromas and the taste of this brew. It was very citrus, pine, and crisp bordering on dry, and bitter. With a fairly light mouthful, I could have easily taken down 64 oz of this with stars in my eyes.
This brew may not be for the casual IPA drinker considering it's intense hop flavor, but I most certainly enjoyed it, and will be looking to get my hands on more of this in the future.
Thank you, Willimantic Brewing!

Poured a deep carbonated copper color with a thick white head, overflowing from a 4oz sampling glass. Smelled a little grapefruit, lemon, floral bitter hops, and something out of left field...maybe a little tart cherry? Weird, but when I took a sip, it all worked, with a nice balance between the citrus and the hops. Could've used a little more maltiness though. The mouthfeel was nicely carbonated, but a little thin. Decently drinkable ipa.
