On tap at the brewery as of 1/6/07, served in a standard nonic pint glass.
A cloudy, golden/peach in color. Creamy, bright white head that remains as an intact sheet throughout the duration; leaving rings of sticky lacing.
Fresh hop resin; bright citrus aromatics from the Cascade hops: lemon, lime, pear, and a touch of orange.
The taste begins where the aroma foreshadows, with a bright and oily citrus hop character. A slight mustiness gives a dry finish to the tartness and leads to a very grainy, wheat-filled flavor. The stiff, yet clean wheat flavor lasts well through the light-in-flavored bitterness, and remains on the tastebuds into the aftertaste.
Medium in bodied; very bright and crisp on the palate, extremely clean and rather fresh.
A good IPA from the masters at Willimantic, but this could nearly pass as a Pale Wheat given the big wheat and grain flavor profile. Not one of my favorite IPA's from Wollner, but not unpleasant.
