Served in a twelve-ounce glass at the brewery due to the 8.2% abv.
Nearly opaque mud-brown with an overshadowing shade of coal. Thinly tanned head that lingers for a moment or so before receding. Dimpled lacing with a bit of stick.
Sweet molasses and creamy toffee. Dark and ripe, vinous fruit: fig, plum, red apple, raisin. The alcohol presence is noticeable, but subtle giving a slightly smokey quality to the aroma.
Light cream and faint milk chocolate that is overtaken by a sweet, light toffee and molasses flavor combination. The presence of aged cherry, fig, and plum are heightened by a warming alcohol character. Faint hints of oak are felt prior to a remarkably smooth finish. Sweet caramel, cherry, and lingering notes of alcohol are present in the aftertaste.
Full bodied; silky smooth and creamy on the palate. This doppelbock is nicely balanced and the palate welcomes more.
A solid, strong lager from a brewery known for their hops. Very flavorful and the alcohol character is used perfectly to bring out each of the flavor components.
