Reviewed on 8/21/09. On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy brown with a small off white head. Aroma of lots of spices, water chestnut, spruce, and pepper. It reminds me of those Christmas ales. Flavor is also quite spicy upfront with some wheat in the finish. Like the name suggests, this beer is strongly spiced. It's not bad, but it's hard to drink a whole pint of it (although I started to warm up to it by the middle of the glass). Interesting beer.

Draught @ Brewpub: This one poured a Very dark golden color that had a red tint to it. There was a small off-white head that left no lacing. The nose was somewhat spicy. There were also faint notes of fruits and wheat. The taste is very good. It was slightly tart with citrus, other fruits, and some spices.

hard to peg the style, seemed like a Belgian Pale, but i listed it under Saison since it uses a Saison yeast strain
A - a reddish brown, ruddy wheat colored ale, with a big frothy light tan head, no visible sediment
S - super spicy, like an amalgam of cinnamon, clove, coriander, nutmeg, the spices overrule any other aromas
T - spice up front of course, the aforementioned spices combine into a mulled spices taste, over a nice wheat base. the description mentions fruits, but i didnt pick up on any fruits
M&D - a bit spicy for some, but i enjoy a spicy belgian (beer) and really enjoyed this beer, flavorful and filling, not cloying, up front and tasty
