Reviewed on 12/29/2009. Growler from the brewpub. Pours a cloudy orange brown with a very small ring of white head. Aroma of grapefruit, citrus hops, pine, and resiny hop oils. Flavor is dominated by citrus hops and caramel malt. Super tasty and drinkable. Solid IPA.

Screw-top growler filled at the brewpub.
First imperial pint pours with a scant 1/8" beige head over the cloudy amber brew. Head is quickly down to a swirly skim with bubbles around the rim, with coating lasting lace. Aroma is sweet with piney and fruity hoppiness. Taste starts with a shot of maltiness which quickly gives way to mouth-filling piney bitterness, in a good way, flavorful but not overwhelming. Mouthfeel is smooth and low in carbonation, with good drinkability.
