Screw-top growler filled at the brewpub.
First imperial pint pours with a 1/4" beige head, over the clear dark amber brew. Head promptly recedes to the rim, swirly in the middle, with plenty of sticky lacing. Aroma is sweet with a touch of alcohol. Taste is malty to start, lightly fruity with some tannin presence in the middle, and a clean lightly bitter close. Mouthfeel is soft and smooth, and drinkability is very easy. Nice one, and scary easy to drink.

Served on-tap at Willibrew during dinner.
A: The Scottish-style ale is a dark amber color, still clear but towards the darker end of the spectrum. A wispy head accompanies the ale.
S: The nose is sea salt and peated moss, as close as a single malt aroma as I've smelled in a beer. The biscuity malts are well-served with the peat.
T: The taste continues with the peat moss theme. The smoke flavors are subtle but noticeable immediately. They are warm and biscuity with the salty smoke acting as the star. This beer is a single malt without the distillation, peaty and malty with a distinct finish.
M: The mouthfeel, minus the strength, reminded me of a scotch from the first sip. The peated aspects are nicest, toasted and warming.
D: A little on the high end booze-wise, this beer seems to straddle a thin line between strong beer and light liquor. A nice beer to sip on.
