Screw-top growler filled at the brewpub.
First stein pours with a 1/2" tan head, over the cloudy orangey brown brew. Head lasts well, with lasting lace. Aroma is tart and lactic.
Taste is cocoa and milk sugars upfront, a medium sourness in the middle, and pleasing bitterness through the close. Mouthfeel is okay, and drinkability is average. Can't get past the sour character that I'm getting. Maybe bottom of barrel or bad growler, although been stored in fridge since filling Tuesday.

Had this on tap in a pint glass at Willimantic Brewery in Willimantic, CT. A wet-hopped brown ale made first at the Sierra Nevada Beer Camp #12. Lots of Centennial hops in this. A very dark brown hue with a tan head. Bitter flavor yet smooth aftertaste. Lots of coffee, toffee, and coconut memories in the flavor. The slightly bitter aftertaste is wonderful, making me constantly think back on the drink. Overall, this was a great brew -- one of my favorites at Willimantic!

A - A hazy, dark brown body with a small head of off white foam on top. The foam fades away quickly and leaves light lace on the glass.
S - Musty, slightly pine oriented hops with brown, malty notes in the background.
T - Brown sugar and dark caramel up front. Some pine hops in the middle with a muddy caramel character. Finishes with mustardy hops and cloying brown sugar as well as moderate bitterness.
M - Medium-thick body, moderate carbonation, and a sweet finish.
D - Cloyingly sweet with a muddy malt character that just doesn't do much for me.
