Draught @ Brewpub: this one pours a dark coppery color. it was crystal clear. There was no head or lacing. There was a malty nose, but not much sweetness. Earthy notes also. the taste is very good. Caramel malts, some sweetness, faint wheat, earthiness and a slight dryness to the finish. Nice.

Had a pint of this at the Willimantic Brewery in Willimantic, CT. Poured into a standard pint glass. Dark almost purple tinge to the beer with a thin off-white head. Very blackberry in the aftertaste while highlighting hops in the nose. A bold Double Alt style bier with German Pilsner, CaraRed, CaraMunich and Wheat malts balanced with German Tradition hops. Overall, this was a great dopple alt, and I would highly recommend it if you are at the brewery!
