My sister was in Japan on vacation and just so happened to be there for Spring Valley Brewery's fresh hopfest 2018. She bought this beer back to the States and sent a couple to me.
This beer was brewed with IBUKI hops which according to the menu at the brewery (my sister took a photo of it), were harvested in both Takeda of Obita prefecture, and Esashi of Iwate prefecture.
It was bottled on 9/27 when it most likely tasted better then it does 2 months later but still I had to add it.
6.5% with a strange flavor of candy sweetness and familiar malty finish, then grape juice flavor and finally there is hint of a bitterness.
I was excited to have tried a fresh hop beer from Japan!
