Pours a cloudy straw yellow with an instantly disappearing head that leaves a thin ring and scant lacing. A little pineapple and orange on the nose. Taste follows nose. Medium body, clean finish.

Picked this up at a Total Wine in Tempe, Arizona when I was out there not too long ago. Loved the label looking like the Arizona flag and the presence of Ella Hops made me want to give this a go. Indeed, this had a unique taste to it as the amount of alcohol in this was quite hidden by the slightly exotic nature of this brew!
This had a golden hue to it that was quite cloudy, but only because of the sediment that settled at the bottom of the liquid. Enough head topped this off as the lacing left behind was mostly in the form of a thick ring near the center of my glass. Lots of citrus, fragrant floral, and exotic tropical notes in the muted nose as the taste was much more brighter and noticeable than the aroma. Sharp grapefruit and lime were up front as the taste contained a bit of wheat, spelt, grain, and a feel from Down Under. Light in carbonation, sticky like bread, and a bit slick in the aftertaste, this had a somewhat heavy body and nice feel to it without any overt hop bitterness.
The same was true for the booze as I did feel warm but never tasted or detected any hint of alcohol during my session. Sure, the few large chunks of sediment that ended up at the bottom of my pint glass were a bit disconcerting, but I had no idea how old this was since there wasn't anything stamped on the bottom of the can. This was a decent take on the style that was different in flavor but needed a bit more of an aroma and sensory experience to stand out from the pack. A good first impression from State 48 was how I'll remember this!

Pours hazy golden yellow with a nice white fluffy cap. Strong beautiful notes and flavor accents of bitter grapefruit and light citrus. Nice micro brew hazy IPA from Arizona State 48 Brewery.
