I've been going around Antwerp looking for beer shops in search of the unknown. This is one of them. A Dutchman in my beloved Finland. I'm up for it.
Served in my trusty "Seef" tumbler.
Nice full creamy head adorns this orange peel coloured pea soup. I can see som tiny specs floating around. The head holds it own.
Scent is strong. I can find traced of orange peel, pine reasin, apple and something else I can't exactly lay my hand on (caramel?).
Flavour is (unsurprisingly) very strong on the hops. Orange peel, lemon and pine reasin again. Very straight forward this on. Loving it.
Aftertaste continues this limited but satisfactory palate. Some yeast as well (some Belgian influence still??), but it's not killing the experience overall.

all in all this is a successful experiment. the piney hops (Centeniel maybe) harmonize well with the woody character from the barrel. little brett character too gives you an idea how the original IPAs tasted whether they were shipped to India or not.

Orange colour with a full and steady head of foam. Full nose of pine, malt and some light fruit. Lots of pine in the taste as well, together with light fruits, grapefruit and malt. Aftertaste is dry with pine and some hints of wood. Mouth feel is medium bodied and quite smooth. Nice beer, try this if you like them, well, piney :).

Got this one at the Albert Heijn in the area.
From a bottle into a snifter
Best Before 02/06/2019
Hops: Centennial, Citra & Mosaic
Aged on American Oak Chips
Crafted by nomad brewer Ronald De Waal
APPEARANCE: Pours a 2+ finger, medium looking, foamy off-white head with very good retention. Hazy gamboge orange with medium levels of carbonation. Half wisp remains leaving some slightly foamy lacing down the glass.
SMELL: Bolder nose of caramel, melon aromas, citrus and mango on the nose.
TASTE: Bready flavors up front with caramel and grassy hops. Melon flavors through the middle with lots of hop bitterness at the swallow. Bold and lingering finish of melon, citrus flavors, mango, grassy flavors and plenty of hop bitterness. Flavorful and interesting.
PALATE: Fuller body with medium carbonation. Creamy, slightly foamy, and full on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes slightly dry on the palate. Lots of bitterness lingers.
OVERALL: Quality stuff. It’s definitely got that fuller, foamier Belgian feel to it, but the flavor is quite palatable. Quite grassy and some definite Belgian influence but I’m not sure if it’s from the yeast strain or not. Either way, it all works well. One of the better European IPA’s I’ve had to date. Try it out if you see it. Cheers!

This was brewed by hippies, i think.
Good beer, a little dry in the aftertaste.
Extra star, only because of the name.
