Benchtop Brewing Co. "Isoelectric Shift"
on tap at the brewery on 18 June 2017
$3.50 / half
Notes: Slightly hazy golden body beneath a short head of white that holds fairly well for a sour beer but eventually drops to just a collar. Only tiny spots of lace are left behind. The aroma is floral and tropical fruit/citrusy with some raspy citrus pith or mineralish character. The flavor brings in some grainy malt and a stiff tartness. Nicely balanced - not too tart. Pineapple, passionfruit, some pine. Medium-light in body with a moderate carbonation that lightly caresses the palate, but there's also some acidic bite. Dry, acidic, and fruity finish.

Poured a cloudy yellow body with decent head and somehow has a slightly tropical fruit aroma with a touch of smokiness or something (my nose may have misled me here). Bitter, acidic bite with clean finish and touches of yeast and tropical fruit for fuller body and balance.
