16iz can from my brother. Dark brown pour, beige head settles into ring. Strong malty aroma, sweet, boozy. Taste is malty, brown sugar, woody, nutty, raisins. Smooth

Purchased at Dominion Wine & Beer for $16.99. 12% ABV.
Not an overly spirited barrel-aged beer. The vanilla and maple make this a barley wine with little of the bitterness I need to play off of the significant maltiness. 3.75
A – Pours a golden brown, but black opaque in the glass, with a one-finger brown head that dissipates quickly. Good viscosity. Average lacing. 4.0
S – Aromas of vanilla, maple syrup, brown sugar, faint oakiness, toffee and spirits. 4.0
T – Brown bread maltiness, not overly maple and not too sweet, low but evident herbal bitterness. 3.75
MF – Medium heavy bodied with a semi-dry finish. A bit of sharpness on the roof of the mouth, but generally creamy. 3.75

Review of the 2019 version
L: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a dark, mahogany brown color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, off white head that lasted a below average amount of time. Not a whole lot of lacing.
S: A very good aroma of maple syrup, booze, malt, hops, and caramel.
T: Tasted of a bit of hops (mostly in the finish), some bourbon notes (more subtle than expected, but certainly present), a good shot of maple syrup (quite sweet), some caramel notes, and a good amount of malt (present throughout). A nicely boozy, slightly subtle flavor. Pretty tasty.
F: A fair amount of carbonation with a sharp finish. Medium-bodied.
O: A very much likable beer. Drinkable.
