I don't see a date on the can or the label.
Appearance: It has an opaque body that is an orange juice color. There is a medium-short white head that is fluffy with a few lumps across the surface. It slowly fades but has decent retention.
Aroma: It has a big savory scent up front, with notes of garlic and onion. There are also notes of citrus in the mix which come across as grapefruit and a bit of orange. A light hint of alcohol comes through.
Taste: Up front there is a mixture of hop bine oil flavor and a touch of cabbage with a light bit of grapefruit pulp at the edge. The middle of the mouth has a bit of grain flour flavor and a good deal of alcohol flavor. It's not quite boozy but the alcohol is very noticeable.
Mouthfeel: It is medium bodied and soft with a mellow raspiness and just a light hint of bitterness. Alcohol is noticeably apparent.
Overall: The beer isn't really cohesive and it doesn't feel like there's any central driving character to this beer, as if it's all just kind-of thrown together. It feels soft but it has too much alcohol character, and it has an odd combination of aromas and flavors. It does have a nice fresh hop character but the character that comes out it a bit odd. It's worth trying once or putting in a mix-a-six but it's not a beer I would revisit often.

Whoever labeled this for Beer Advocate got it right!!!! The can said "Double IPA" and the .abv supports that, but the style is NE all the way. Very hazy light yellow color, strong aroma and taste of grapefruit and tropical fruit and some "dankness". With the popularity of the NE style IPA, I can see a NE DIPA style in the future!!! Purchased a 16 oz can at the Casual Pint in Va Beach (as always, a good place to find local Hampton Roads area beers). Medium sized foamy white head with good retention and lacing. Very hazy light yellow straw colored. Strong aroma and taste of grapefruit and tropical fruit. Plenty of bitterness - a good hop bomb!!!! Mouthfeel is bitter and fairly rich. I really like this beer!!!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
