From the pint can of unknown age, it pours a clear to slightly hazy yellow color with a very large long lasting head. The nose gets grassy scents and light malt. The mouth gets a pleasant light malt flavor with light bitterness.

There doesn't appear to be a date listed on the can or the label.
Appearance: The body is gold in color with a light bit of haze. There is a lot of visible carbonation and it has a medium-sized fluffy white head that is medium in size. The head has great retention and it has some nice thick blotches of foam lacing.
Aroma: It has an herbal hop aroma with a bit of blood orange character which seems a bit off in the beer. There is a light cracker scent.
Taste: Up front there is a slightly fruity flavor which tastes much like it smells, like a bit of a tangy blood orange flavor. The middle of the mouth has this strong, bitter, herbal flavor which dominates the palate. There is a bit of a mint flavor towards the back of the mouth and it finishes with a lingering bitter herb flavor along with a light bit of unsalted cracker or hard tack. The more the beer is consumed the more the cracker flavor lingers, and it also picks up a bit of a cereal grain flavor in the aftertaste as well.
Mouthfeel: The beer has a very strong herbal hop bitterness that is present at all times and lingers in the aftertaste. It feels smooth with a medium body that is a bit chewy and sticks to the teeth. Carbonation feels good and it has a dry but somewhat chalky feel in the aftertaste. It isn't as crisp as one would generally want from a beer like this, so the bitterness really carries the weight here.
Overall: The label on this says that it is a "Foeder Aged German Style Pilsner" and that it is "5.0% ABV." It doesn't seem like any Foeder character came through in the aroma or the flavor, however it could have contributed to some of the smoothness or other qualities in the beer. As a German Style Pilsner it does a really good job with presenting the hop character, although there is this orange-like aroma and flavor which seems a bit out of place. It is better than many of the average tasting German Style Pilsners that are available on the market, but where it exceeds in flavor and bitterness it also lacks in cleanliness and crispness. I could drink it again but it wouldn't be something I would regularly pick up. I would only really recommend trying a single pour or a sampler of it before committing to a growler or a 4-pack.

No canned on date. Poured into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint.
A: Crystal clear straw yellow with 2-finger foamy off-white head with good retention and craggy lacing.
S: Fresh tropical, pine, and pineapple scent of Brett greets and melds beautifully with the cereal grain aromas of the pils maltiness. Some additional herbal and lemon-orange hop notes. The Brett component is obvious, thus I categorized this as a Brett beer even though the base is a pilsner — it’s unmistakeable and deftly accomplished.
T: The flavor is packed with a slew of wonderful subtle flavors, the delicious addition that makes up a masterful lager. The cereal grain pils maltiness is up front with some floral, herbal hop notes. The Brett comes through more in the finish, with dashes of pineapple, pine, and lemon notes. Low bitterness and long aftertaste of Brett.
M: Dry and crisp with light body and moderate carbonation.
O: A fantastic brew by Benchtop — delicate yet flavorful with Brett character that enhances without dominating.
