I don't see a date listed on the can anywhere.

Appearance: The body of the beer is a light straw colored yellow with a moderate haze. It has a lot of visible carbonation leading to a short, frothy, white head. The head has good retention and leaves a bit of cobweb-like lacing.

Aroma: There is a light bit of noble hop aroma.

Taste: A light bit of saltine cracker enters on the tip of the tongue, followed by a light herbal note in the middle. A hint of bay leaf with a slightly stronger mint-like character traipses in at the end.

Mouthfeel: It is very effervescent and the carbonation feels nice on the tongue. The body is on the upper edge of light and it lingers around a bit on the palate. Bitterness is medium to medium-low depending on the sip but it tends to be on the lower end and is an herbal bitterness.

Overall: The can states that this is a "Foeder Aged German Style Pilsner." The beer as a German Pilsner is pretty good; although it lacks clarity and doesn't feel as crisp as some competitors it still manages to look nice and drink well. The downfall of the beer is that it really lacks any of the Foeder character which is a bit disappointing. For those looking for a decent German Pils this could work but I wouldn't recomment it for those looking for more flavor and aroma that a foeder typically imparts. Benchtop has other lagers which do a better job, and I would prefer to drink those.
