From the label on the can, there is a stamp with the date code: "12/08/22"
Appearance: The beer pours with a ton of foam, requiring a good deal of care when pouring it. It has a pale gold colored body with just a slight haze keeping it from being completely clear. It has a frothy white head with whipped peaks. Great head retention. It leaves thick foam rings which look like soap suds.
Aroma: There is a pleasant but mild noble hop aroma with a touch of sweet-smelling cereal grain. A bit honey-like.
Taste: Up front there is a bit of herbal hop flavor with notes of burnt popcorn. Towards the middle there is a slightly spicy hop note with hints of cedar. Slightly bitter root flavor near the back-end of the palate. It finishes with a touch of
Mouthfeel: It feels soft and just a touch chalky. Bitterness is medium but shows itself well against the backdrop of more subdued malts. The body feels medium. Carbonation feels good.
Overall: The label states that this is a "Foeder Aged German Style Pilsner" and that it is "Brewed in collaboration with our friends at Vibrissa Beer in Front Royal, VA." As a whole it's an alright beer. The beer feels well-made but it doesn't feel as fine-tuned, crisp, or bright as many other German Pilsners. I could still drink it again because it is a good beer but I wouldn't grab it if I was looking for a German Pilsner. Recommendation-wise it's the same idea; it's a good beer to drink but it isn't a poster child for a German Pilsner. It is still worth trying if you like well made beer, especially if you want a Pilsner with a softer body.
