It’s official, we hit a milestone and brewed our 1000th batch recently. Say hello to 1000 Zombies (Ode to 3 Floyd’s Zombie dust which we really love)! This IPA is made with cascade and Nectaron hops.

From the pint can, it pours a slightly hazy darker amber color with a modest thick just off white head that hangs around for a while. The nose gets an odd mixture of scents, including citrus and onion (!). The mouth follows the nose with the earthy flavors coming through, including a slight citrusy bite in the cheeks. Definitely a different flavored Pale Ale!

There is an indented date stamp in black on a black label near the bar code: "07/19/23"
Appearance: The body is hazy and a somewhat darker shade of amber. It is still possible to see through the glass. It has a medium-short fluffy white head that has very good head retention. There are some nice strings of lacing.
Aroma: It has a very savory aroma with notes of garlic and onions. There is also a citrus aroma present which comes across as grapefruit. The aroma is very strong which is nice.
Taste: The flavor of the beer very closely mimics the aroma with strong notes of garlic and some hints of onion and bay leaf. It has a bit of a rustic rosemary bread mixed with some rye flavor as well. The back of the palate is a strong bitter grapefruit flavor mixed with rye and garlic. The aftertaste is a long-lingering grapefruit flavor.
Mouthfeel: It has a slightly heavier mouthfeel than a typical IPA which teeters towards the upper edge of medium-bodied. It has a medium-strength hop bitterness which fits the beer. It is a bit of a slow drinking beer due to the weighty body.
Overall: It's a pretty good beer. Often times people will interpret some flavors as savory while others interpret them as citrus or tropical. For me the beer was heavily savory, which is fine, but it's not something I would buy regularly. It has a strong flavor and aroma which is very nice.
The label on the can states that this is: "MADE WITH BARLEY MALT VIENNA MALT CRYSTAL MALT CASCADE HOPS NECTARON HOPS." This beer was brewed as an ode to Zombie Dust which is an American Pale Ale while this one is labeled an "APOCALYPTIC PALE ALE" on the can and an IPA on the website. To me Zombie Dust has a lot of mango and peach flavor while this beer had more savory garlic, onion, and rustic bread characters. It really didn't come across as anything similar to Zombie Dust.
As a whole it was an interesting beer and it's probably worth recommending a single pour or can but I probably wouldn't buy more than the 4-pack I already have of it.
