From the side of the can in white text: "04/16/25"
Appearance: The body is a dark amber color with hints of golden brown and sunburst orange. It has a medium-sized tobacco-stained, yellowing, off-white colored head that is fluffy and rocky. It has decent head retention and leaves craters as it recedes. There are some nice wisps on the glass.
Aroma: The aroma is fairly muted. It has a bit of a generic malt aroma with a hint of nutty character. It smells a bit like a glass of beer that was left out overnight. It's not necessarily a bad aroma but it just smells a bit stale and there isn't much aroma to begin with.
Taste: It has a light bit of bready malt with some nutty character. There is a light herbal flavor with a hint of candied mint. Notes of wintergreen. It has a bitter finish with a bit of nutty character.
Mouthfeel: It is on the upper edge of light bodied, just under medium. Carbonation feels higher than appropriate and it seems to cut into the body a bit too much. Bitterness is on the high side.
Overall: The label on the can states that this is a "Mexican Style Ruby Lager." It doesn't really seem to fit when compared to other dark Mexican Lagers. It just felt muddy and unbalanced. The label also states "FOEDER PROJECT" and while it might have been fermented or lagered on wood it didn't pick up any character. As a whole it's not a beer I would recommend because there are much better lagers from Benchtop to drink. I wouldn't buy it again.
