This is a 16oz can purchased from cold storage.
From the side of the can: "05/14/25"
Appearance: The beer has a gold body with brilliant clarity. It has a large white head that is rippled over the top with some pock marks. Very good head retention but not much in the way of lacing. It slopes up the glass but it never forms any proper lacing.
Aroma: It has a bit of onion and garlic mixed with somewhat of a biscuit scent. A bit of rosemary as well. It has a mostly savory aroma which is nice.
Taste: Garlic and onions up front with a bit of rye bread and rosemary wheat cracker flavor towards the middle. The flavors mimic the aroma very closely. It has a very savory and rustic taste which is nice. There is a bit of grain flour flavor in the aftertaste which is nice.
Mouthfeel: It is light bodied and easy to drink. Carbonation feels on point and there is no perceivable bitterness, which is worth pointing out given that a lot of hop character was noted in the flavor profile.
Overall: As a whole it was a very enjoyable beer. It has a savory and rustic character which would work well with a nice steak or blackened fish. The style is listed on the can as "NECTARON PALE LAGER" and realistically it feels close to an American Pale Ale, only in this case a lager, so an American Pale Lager. The savory onion and garlic flavors with a rustic bread and cracker flavor would make this a good beer to drink in the fall. The beer has good flavors and aromas but it would be a bit of an acquired taste for most given that it tastes more savory. I would drink it again and I would recommend it to those who enjoy a more savory character in beer.
