12 oz bottle poured into Boulevard Smokestack snifter. I've heard this beer is pretty good, we'll see what happens!
Light brown chestnut color with a creamy head of 1 finger, receding to 1/2 finger.
Nose brings slight nuttiness, slight fruitiness, slight floral. Pretty faint though.
Flavor is full and balanced. Really nice malty waves coming and a good floral/slightly piney hop presence to balance it. Notes of chocolate cake and brownies float around and touch down on the tongue here and there. A finish of malted milk balls and floral hop.
Feel is pretty electric, and is a bit thinner than I'd like, but leaves some pleasantly good resins and starches on the palate.
Overall, this is a pretty decent brown ale, I'd say it's the area's best. Not as good as the best ones, but pretty good nonetheless.
