Usually I'm not very impressed by rice lagers, but this pilsner hopped one strikes a very nice chord for me.
The can has gotten an update with a rustic graphic of a rice farm with an ox-driven plow. Pours a crystal clear pale gold with a bone-white head that dissipates a little quicker than your average lager.
The aroma is highly reminiscent of toasted rice cakes, perforated with floral pilsner hop notes and a jasmine like finish.
This is my favorite rice beer I have had to date. Reminiscent of Asahi, but smoother with a clean pilsner hop profile and a perfect balance of light sweetness and bitterness.
So crisp and easy drinking. Hard to beat how refreshing this is.
An awesome brew. I am very impressed.

Clear golden yellow brew with long-lasting foam in the tall goblet. Trustworthy calls this a "Rice Pilsner," which maybe means it has some hops. It is also supposed to be brewed with jasmine rice, which might explain the odd but pleasant perfumey note along with the grainy aroma. Bready warm flavors.
Crisp and sudsy mouthfeel but somewhat sweet and distinctly malty. It's a nice improvement over the standard Japanese idea of rice lager. Overall, this is a flavorful and highly drinkable light brew with moderate alcohol to boot. From the 16 oz can purchased at some suburban big box store.
