Big aroma and taste from the Citra and Simcoe hops to bring this moment of zen together.

This was another beer that I picked up while out in California last year, at the Total Wine in Long Beach. Never heard of Trustworthy before and this looked interesting enough to give it a go, as it was not quite a typical American IPA.
Sure, this had a bright and brassy appearance and was topped off by a ton of spongy suds, as there was a fair amount of suds left behind. Those were in the form of deep and well-off rings as the bubbles never fully dissipated. Citrus rind, dank hops, and bud were in the nose as the taste was also heavy-handed. Slick on the palate, there was a lot of deep, dewy forest that set the overall tone for this beer. Earthy in the back, this was a true California brew that looked and felt that part, as some white chocolate and deep herb lingered long after this went down - which left me wanting another hit, er...can.
Speaking of that, this didn't have a date on it but aging it only added to it's green appeal. The Simcoe overpowered the Citra here, as it felt stronger than it was in actuality. A bit less potent and this would be a perfect session beer, or enough to make me wish I was back on the left coast again. Give it a go if you're in the Golden State!
