What a comfortable pour. It emptied a pint can into a clear glass Imperial pint mug quite easily. No foamy stark white head here, thankfully. Unfortunately for looks, there's almost no head at all. The color of the brew itself is light copper and fairly opaque. The aroma, although not pungent, has both malt and hops characters within. It's drinkable, but it's very green. By that, there's malt and hops in the flavor but they taste independently and not complimentary. But there's more bad news. Neither taste aspect is good enough to carry this one. Judged by its self described category, this suffers even more in its ratings. This is a failure at what it strives to be. There's no sharp piney hop bite, requisite in a good WCIPA. There's no malt character at all, although that's not required in a good WCIPA. Regardless, this is a disappointment that falls way short of its attempted category. Three of the four-pack pints will be "gifted" to friends. Let’s hope they remain friends afterwards. In short, this is a bad beer. That's a tough call, as this reviewer is from South Philly and was hoping for better. The label isn't bad to look at.
