This beer really opens with an almost tart or sour seal transforming to a Citra midway it finishes with what's a nice IPA like hop mix with good body flavor..

i suspect i caught this one a little past its optimal freshness, but its still a nice ipa, bold yet balanced, juicy but also bitter, and with some actual grain character to it, not malty or sweet or anything, but with some body and and a little biscuit note that really beefs it up and extends it, lets the bitterness stick around a bit too, i could imagine this being brilliant when its brand new. the hop profile has a little grapefruit to it, an oily honey note, and nuances of lemon, peach, and pine, even a little pepper to it as it warms up a bit, not overly complex, but not just hoppy in the finish either, but all the way though it. medium body, a bit of sweetness in the middle from the grain, and then a long hop finish, more grapefruit and pine, clean though too for being as round and balanced as it is, smooth medium body, moderate carbonation, warms up better than many, and is overall a really enjoyable ipa, maybe a bit heavy in the hottest of new orleans weather, but they did a good job with this one. my first hoppy offering from wayward owl.

Given to me as a part of a six pack of various NO beers. My initial thought was that it tasted a lot like Lagunitas IPA.

Clean Slate IPA has a thick, ivory head, a hazy, gold-orange appearance, and some glass lacing. Aroma is of stone fruit and white bread crust, and the taste is of fruit, hop resin, building, yet pleasant hop bitterness, and bread crust. Mouthfeel is high medium, and Clean Slate IPA finishes dry and enjoyable.

Pours a hazy copper. Thick, tall, off-white head, that last with good lacing.
Smells Citrus, bready malt, Lightly earthy, dank and Piney.
Taste bitter Citrus and bready malt. Hints of earthy and pine. Finish is dry with a long bitter Pine linger. Not very balanced. medium body and higher fizzy carbonation.

On tap at the Avenue Pub.
A: Opaque, light golden with an off-white one-finger head that lingered. Thready lacing.
S: Piney hops, caramel malts.
T: A nice hop/malt tango with medium bitterness and easy drinkability. Slightly tropical with pineapple blending with piney hops. Caramel malts even it out nicely.
M: Medium with low to medium carbonation.
O: A solid IPA, great for Mardi Gras parades or just hanging out. Well done, Owls!
