Canned 9/19/22. “Speed demon” stamped on the bottom of the can
How nice, my buddy @Pru brought me back a local beer from when him and his girlfriend visited her hometown for the weekend. I wasn’t expecting it and it’s obviously not a special beer or anything, but I’m excited to try it nonetheless. Let’s see what my buddy thinks I’ll like
Pours a mostly clear yellow gold with 3 fingers of soapy off white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing
It’s pretty classic WCIPA stuff in the nose, spicy hops with a nice malty backbone. I’m picking up on aromas of grapefruit zest, bready malt, sweet honey, peppery hops, pine sap, orange marmalade, burnt sugar, and light weed
It’s smoother and less bitter in taste than I would’ve expected based on the nose but I’m still digging it. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting orange zest, crackery malt, sweet honey, red grapefruit, earthy hops, light pine, and fresh cut grass. The swallow brings notes of sweet honey, peppery hops, bready malt, orange marmalade, grapefruit zest, and light pine
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a crisp beer. Finishes refreshing with a firm but restrained bitterness
It’s nothing amazing, but still damn solid. Thanks again @Pru!
