Dark with a thin head and a collar that leaves a little lacing.
Tasty caramelized malt, crusty bread, earthy and peppery as mentioned in the brewers notes. Hints of coffee. Lite/medium bodied mouthfeel, somewhat dry.
An interesting take on the Kolsch.

Had this one on tap at the brewery. Advertised as a "Dark Kolsch" on the beer menu, which kinda sounds like an oxymoron but I guess the brewer knows best. Still, an interesting offering. Dark with a ruby edge, along with a medium size beige head that left good lacing. Aroma of toasted malts and a faint hint of coffee. Smooth, bittersweet taste that took on a herbal quality near the finish. Dry, medium-to-light bodied mouthfeel. Overall, almost comparable to a Schwarzbier.
