A - Dark body, opaque and brown-black color, a moderate tan head. The lacing is sticky and thick.

S - Strong malt and full of chocolate and baked bread, a touch of sharp alcohol underneath it all.

T - Delicious chocolate and alcohol hit, malt and baked bread, and pungent smart bitterness to clear the sweetness of the open.

M - Moderate carbonation, sticky heaviness on the tongue, but the warmth of alcohol does help clear in the finish.

O - This is a well built stout, tasty and solid. Nice.

Extremely dark brown, almost black in color with about a finger and a half of mocha colored head. Aroma is cooling with light aromas of almond liquer and some chocolate. Taste is very sweet with big flavor being molasses. There is a lot of sugary sweetness to this and would have gone great with dessert, unfortunately I am not eating any. Finish is sugary and coating with a bit of sweet coffee feel at the end. This beer lacks a great deal of complexity due to the lactose feel and sweetness. Sweeter than any milk stout I have had

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a pint glass. Had a jet black color and a thick consistency. There was an inch of creamy, tan-colored, fairly long-lasting head. Average lacing.

S: A very good aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, dark fruit, and vanilla.

T: Tasted of a decent amount of roasted malt (present throughout), a lot of dark chocolate (all over the place), a tinge of vanilla, and light dark fruit notes (raisins?). Overall, this is a very sweet flavor - heavy on the chocolate. It does flirt with being one-note, but it does seem to work. In general, tasty.

F: A fair amount of carbonation with a thick, chewy finish. Full-bodied.

O: This is one of those oddly likable stouts. Sweet and drinkable.

Curious to see what this holds. Don't really have a base to go off of as far as Untitled Art brews go. I've only had one brew by them and it was a collaboration IPA. Pouring a 16 oz. can into a pint glass. This pours out a dark brown in color with lighter highlights in as well. Forms out in the glass to be a really dark beer with an almond colored, thin crown. The smell of this is bitter roastiness mixing with some sweet notes like dark fruits. The taste is the same. Has some bitter roastiness up front and then some smooth and thick dark fruit sweetness. Maybe some vanilla and a little bitter dark chocolate. It's definitely sweet. Thick and smooth mouthfeel. Overall, this was an interesting try. I liked the dark fruit and sweet notes that were in it.

Syrupy feel combined with ultra-sweet flavor profile make Black Stout a very difficult beer to consume much of. Cloying and thick-chewy body with low-low carbonation severely damage enjoyment for me.

Canned 4/5/18; drank 5/18/18 @ the Yarchives.

Midnight black appearance.

A violent pour yielded a HUGE dark tan head (careful pouring!); strong, frothy lace.

Fresh earth, cream & mild raspberry notes in the nose.

Medium thick, creamy mouthfeel.

Dark cherry & fresh earth flavors up front; cream notes on the finish. No booze heat.

Earthy yet sweet; this clashes a bit. Not bad, but not one to seek out.

Pours nearly black, with a nice tan head. Very aesthetically pleasing beer (and can). Smell was almost exclusively chocolate with a small bit of roastiness and booze. Taste was just sweet chocolate. Pretty simplistic taste profile and probably could've benefited from some coffee or more roast malt to cut the sweetness. Finish was extremely smooth with a bit of an alcohol bite. Very solid beer, but nothing to write home about.
