Shockingly dark orange-brown and opaque, murky, pulpy body. Good head production and very nice retention.
Fresh apricot and huge vanilla tones dominate the nose, along with a touch of mandarin orange. Very smooth, very inviting. Almost no hops; reviewed blind, I don't think many would suggest this is a DIPA.
Slightly sour on the palate, with plenty of apricot, and the vanilla relegated to the back half. More hop tones of pine and citrus come through on the palate, but this still leans toward sour fruited IPA with vanilla.
Thick and creamy, yet still lively, mouthfeel. Delightful.
A touch on the sour side, really more of a thick fruited sour IPA. Very enjoyable.
