Interesting beer - not as rich as I was expecting for an imperial stout, and didn't detect any honey. Pours a black opaque color with some tan head and just a little scant spotty lingering lacing. Aromas of dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, malt, caramel and a touch of nuttiness. Tastes similarly, quite tasty but not particularly rich or deep, and no honey to be found. Smooth slightly sticky mouthfeel, good carbonation. Not bad, just not what I expected.

12oz can from my favorite "newer" brewery
Black, big mocha head. Smells like booze and dark fruit. Maybe a little honey.. Very creamy yet somewhat thin feel. Lots of booze burn and for some reason artificial banana (?)
This one was just okay - a very enjoyable big beer that didn't do much to stand out.

12 oz. Can

Poured into a Tree House glass a very nice dark brown/black color, with some pretty nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy one-finger tan head, which also leaves a medium size island, and some nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is pretty nice, malty, hoppy, with a pretty nice dark fruit complex (figs, cherries, raisins, prunes, dates, grapes), pretty nice touch of chocolate/toffee, vanilla, licorice, honey. The taste is pretty nice, malty, hoppy, with a very nice touch of dark fruit complex (figs, cherries, raisins, prunes, dates, grapes), with a very nice touch of chocolate/toffee, very nice honey note, with a really nice touch of vanilla, licorice, with a pretty nice sweetness. Full Body, ABV is hidden very nicely, with a slight dry/bitter finish, a very nice sipper. Overall, this is a very tasty brew. Glad to see it around here.
