Barrel Aged Espresso Marshmallow Stout

Pours moderately syrupy, black, with a half-finger of creamy tan head. Delightfully aromatic charred marshmallow on the nose, a product of the lactose with char from the espresso's dark roast. Vanilla and a touch of boozy heat from the bourbon barrels, light oak, some impression of graham cracker and redvine/twizzler candies. One of the best integrated espresso beers I've had, not over-extracted and not overly bitter or dark. Strong earthy and nutty character on the palate, with a sweet finish that borders on cloying for me.
