I guess I let it warm up too much as the smell wasn't really that great mild chalky chocolate. With a taste of sour chocolate milk and just a good hint of bittersweet roast. Actually can't believe that someone said this beer is too sweet just a muddled mess of roast and chocolate notes mixed with lactose. Not sure what this beer was trying to be but it did not work for me at all and left a very chalky taste in my mouth.

My wife is a cabernet sauvignon wine drinker and if she drinks beer it is Miller 64. She totally dislikes IPAs and hates the barrel aged stouts and porters I prefer. However she loves ice cream so I had her taste this one. She loved it! "Tastes Just like chocolate ice cream" she screamed! There you have it; her rating on the taste 5. Me, this is not one of my favorites (too sweet) and would be only a once in awhile pour for me. Unlike many of my favorite stouts which I like to warm up a bit, this one....colder the better. For the look...there are little flecks of chocolate (?) floating around in the beer which my eyes did not enjoy. Small lifeless head and no lacing. Man or woman, if you like chocolate ice cream you will give this liquid version of same a 4.5 - 5.0 rating. Me, when in the mood a 3.5 across the board except for look, a 2.5. Don't like the flecks.

Brownish black with a brown head. Smell really does have an chocolate ice cream aroma, creamy smelling. Taste is more akin to an ash tray, super roasted malts and cocoa nibs seem burnt, no ice cream here. Feel is overly roasted, ashy and thick. Ended up dumping this down the drain, starting to happen too often for UA

The chocolate smell of this beer is truly amazing. If you have had the zanzibar ice cream you will recognize it immediately. I had to stop to smell the beer before each sip. Excellent overall experience. I will buy more of this one.

Aroma is pure chocolate ice cream and dark malts. The flavor is chocolate ice cream/cocoa, dark/roasted malts, fruit and a pretty dry/relatively slightly acidic.
